For a typical base load 375 nominal MW CCGT module, we find that annual recoverable fuel losses are in the order of 490,000 GJ and annual excessive carbon emissions of approximately 28,000 tonnes. In addition an additional 42,000 MWhrs of power would be available. Prices vary around the world, however at current UK prices this amounts to some £1.4 million per annum in potential fuel costs and carbon emissions, with a further £1.1 million in additional potential power sales.

The core TAC business is quantifying the recoverable losses and advising methods of minimising these for optimum economic returns for a particular plant.
